A recent Comal ISD graduate has been honored for his "can-do" attitude and perseverance with a $2,500 grant.

The American Legion Program gives teachers and staff the opportunity to recognize students who exemplify the six qualities that define character. The honor is not only given to graduating seniors and eighth graders. It is also given to graduating fifth graders.

Two student anglers and members of the Comal ISD Bass Fishing Club are heading to the Hill Country Division: Lake Belton State Tournament July 25. They are currently tied for second place in the state - pretty impressive for the program's first year.

During a virtual meeting on Monday, June 29, the 15-member Texas School Safety Center Board of Directors elected Comal ISD Superintendent Andrew Kim as its chair. Kim has served on the board since 2017.

While their final baseball seasons were cut short due to COVID-19, seven recent Comal ISD graduates were selected to play the game they love in an all-star double-header matching the best of the best in the San Antonio area.
