Comal Academy Process

Does a traditional school day not work for you? Comal Academy offers an alternate learning experience to suit your students needs, with classrooms on every high school campus. Read below for admission qualifications and enrollment differences for students involved in the program.
Qualifications
Comal Academy is open to ALL Comal ISD high school students who meet the following qualifications for admission.
- Students must have all 9th and three of four (3/4) 10th grade core course credits, and 2 elective credits.
- Students must have completed EOC’s for Algebra, Biology & at least English 1 or 2.
- Accepted students must complete the enrollment process before beginning their first day at the Academy; this includes clearing any fines on campus, turning in textbooks and library books, etc.
Application Process
- Student expresses interest in Comal Academy
- Students meets with Campus Comal Academy Counselor Liaison & Completes Application
- Campus Comal Academy Liaison emails completed Application to Comal Academy Staff. Applications will be reviewed weekly.
- Comal Academy will notify students and home campus of the application status decision. Comal Academy will communicate with Comal Academy Teachers about start dates and courses to be completed.
- Home Campus will continue to support students with “in the moment” social/emotional needs. Home campus will be the contact point for LPAC, SPED, & 504. Comal Academy counselor will be available via Google Meets appointments for any other student needs.
