The district projects an increase of approximately 5,600 students during the next five years, according to CISD’s fall demographic update. The report states that from September 2017 to August 2018, the district had more than 5,600 home sales, and roughly 26 percent were new homes.

As students and parents prepare for back to school, the Comal Independent School District welcomes its first Director of Safety and Security, Joe McKenna, Ph.D. McKenna is leaving his post as the associate director of research and education at Texas State University’s Texas School Safety Center (TxSSC) to take on this new role for the district.
