Comal ISD Cheer Teams Win Silver, Bronze at State

February 28, 2025 - Two cheer teams from Comal ISD brought home top honors at the Spirit State Championships in January with the Davenport High School team winning silver, and the Canyon High School team winning bronze.

Competing in the UIL 4A Division I championship, the DHS team earned second-place trophy among 59 teams in the state including Canyon Lake High School who placed fifth.

Competing in the UIL 6A Division II championship, the CHS team earned the third-place trophy among 53 teams in the state. The team, which was named the Crowd Leading state champion, is ranked among the top 20 teams in the nation and became the grand champions of the Lago Vista Invitational this season.

The Pieper High School and Smithson Valley High School cheer teams competed in the UIL 5A Division I with SVHS placing fourth and PHS placing 10th among 57 teams in the state.
