Art pieces created by eight students in the Comal Independent School District were selected to be part of the Texas Art Education Association’s Virtual TASA/TASB Exhibit this fall. The students range from elementary through high school, and their entries represent a variety of art style and design.
Comal ISD was one of 63 school districts within the state to be represented in the exhibit showcased at the Texas Association of School Administrators & Texas Association of School Boards Virtual Convention. The exhibit was available Sept. 30 through Oct. 2.
“This is quite an honor for our fine arts department," said Carla Schumann, director of fine arts for Comal ISD. "We are proud of these students and excited to offer opportunities like this one to showcase their talent.”
The students whose artwork was selected for the exhibit include the following: Elizabeth Bautista, fourth grade, Clear Spring Elementary; Harper Borgfeld, third grade, Goodwin Frazier Elementary; Diane Fredregill, 12th grade, Memorial Early College High; Olivia Gillette, second grade, Freiheit Elementary; Alexis Hettinger, 12th grade, Canyon Lake High; Libby Owens, eighth grade, Canyon Middle; Dahlia Rios, ninth grade, Hill Country College Preparatory High; and Nayeli Rutherford, 12th grade, Canyon High.
